Life changing! In January, when I first started this program, I could barely climb in and out of my car! Last week I was able to hike up a small volcano, waterfalls, and all around Iceland! Thanks for the Balanced Team!!!

I am naturally a very skeptical person… and I wasn’t convinced about Balanced in the beginning. After some weeks, I noticed that my energy levels increased, I could move much better and I kept coming back again and again, getting to know my trainers and recommended the program to my friends. They became obsessed too.

It was fantastic! I like that I can speed it up or slow it down. The trainer shows modifications for those that need it but also gives advice if you want to step it up a notch. Sometimes 12 minutes is all you have but you can still sweat :)

Classes range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, so you can always find at least 10 minutes in your busy day to get a class in. I go on vacation next week and I plan on taking classes during my vacay because most classes you don't need any equipment. A real bonus, Balanced has Physical Therapists available for consults. I am thankful to have found an exercise program I can stick with.

I also took a few classes with Morgan and found her to be very good on a few levels: her energy, stating the exact position of each body parts, her directions.

Who We Are

Founder Katie with family & friends

During the pandemic, gyms and fitness studios shut down worldwide. While Katie and Kelly found all of their favorite fitness options online, they observed that nothing of the same quality existed for their grandparents. Group fitness disappeared for them. Something needed to change.

What started as fitness classes over FaceTime quickly grew into a digital fitness community. Katie and Kelly quit their jobs in tech and began hiring physical therapists and trainers to design and teach safe and fun classes for adults over 55.

This community became Balanced. Everyday, we hear about “skepticism” turned into “obsession” or “I can now hike mountains” or “I am now at a lower and healthy weight.” We’re proud of what we’re building and believe in world of vibrant, joyful aging.

We have modern medicine, now we are building modern exercise.

How we got started

Like any good story, Balanced was inspired by family. During the covid shutdown, the two friends realized that digital fitness for people like their grandparents were due for a revamp. Kelly even started giving her grandparents cardio boxing lessons via Facetime.

With backgrounds in technology, startups, and fitness, the two knew that they could create a digital fitness experience to inspire and build community with healthy outcomes that all older adults deserve.
